  1. Oh yes I can do that! It currently does not link, and I don't think I'm allowed to do that per PW's rules, so I'll put the TDA thing. Here it is! Sorry about that!
  2. Size: 500x200, 100x100 Images: any of Robin Holzken (some of her pictures are 15+) Text:Kira Griffin Color Preferences: Reds, Blues, or Blacks Preferred Mood: Bold Link to Place to be Used: my profile Link to Screencap: screencap of my profile When was the last time you requested a graphic for this forum profile? (on any site😞 On Facebook about 3 months ago? I made my own last sig, though, and I've had that one for 6 weeks Additional Information: I hope I filled all this out right, I haven't done a TDA request in forever! But as I said, a lot of Robin's photos are 15+ so proceed with caution when looking for them if that sort of thing bothers you. Ummmmm and Kira's not really a girly girl, so no pinks I guess but most any other color is fine.
  3. Shona - Thanks so much!! I miss RPing with you ❤️ Kira's CL is also one of my favorites I've made - especially since most of the texture was actually from the base image of Robin!! Kristina - Oh! Thanks for letting me know! I've put my credits list up now AND ALSO WE SHOULD TALK ABOUT ARCHITECTURE (I also just got an internship with Universal Studios working with their Hotel Interiors team 😮 )
  4. Is this a new year's resolution? Is this just a temporary gig? Who knows, but I'm posting a new gallery since my old one was deleted for inactivity! It's been probably a year or two+ since I've been active on TDA. Name: Leslie Username: padfoot. , previously Obviously-That-Girl on TDA.net PW: Kira Griffin previously Sophie McLaren, Tucker Cambridge, Carmen (Bellamy) Lanzotti, Zachary (Mikhailov) Parker, Reece Kelley, Riordan Kelley Age: 23 Software: Photoshop CS6 Credits: look here! Currently studying a Masters in Architecture with an emphasis in Sustainable Design! Talk to me about ecological issues. Or the Avengers. I love both. An Apology

I think we should keep the ranks as they are? Because honestly, as a JA, and maybe this is just me, I want to know that I EARNED my spot to be with the SAs, not that I was just lumped with them because of some people arbitrarily throwing them together because the gap between them is smaller than the rest?? Maybe that's just me that feels that way. I think signing up for promotions is the best way to do this, and combining it with the rubric idea, so someone can look at their gallery and look at the rubric and think "oh, okay, I think I have a 7 in blending and an 8 in composition and a 5 in text..." And then put themselves out there to be promoted, which shows that they worked hard to be promoted and have actually put thought into why they should be promoted (then again, if we do a rubric, we should definitely make sure it's a TECHNIQUE rubric so that we're not limiting anyone's creativity, which I worried about briefly until I realized that this is probably what was meant in the first place ) The badges idea is interesting, but then I think that also makes the divide within the ranks farther (a senior with 5 badges is looked down on by/feels jealous of the seniors that have 8) Honestly, I would much rather have the houses as our houses, because I think there will be more house pride among them, as well as you meet people who self-identify to be like you. And the people that are here that "don't do Harry Potter" or think we're too centered on it need to realize that we are a Harry Potter based site. This isn't just a graphics community. It's a HP graphics community. I don't know how to solve the "some houses are going to be more popular than others" problem, because that will happen no matter what types of houses we choose. We will always have a bunch of people not be active in one or two houses. And honestly, reading people here representing their houses, it seems at least somewhat even (since I've only seen like five people say anything XD). Basically, I don't see a lot of house pride coming from "AW YEAH TEAM STONE WHAT WHAT" you know?? It just doesn't seem as natural, even though it may be more focused on the Dark Arts. okay it's early and I'm on a bus to class so I hope that all made sense??

To Kirjava's post- while the Bowdown to Grad/Staff would help people learn more, I think that also perpetuates the separation between higher and lower ranks, placing them on a pedestal and having the lower ranks "bow down". (Which, tbh, I've always had a problem with the term bow down, because bowing is a way of showing someone you are not worthy of being on their presence. That's why people bow down to kings and queens, it's a sign of respect and a sign of their inferiority. Maybe call the "Bowdown challenges" something like an Admiration Challenge? I think that has a much better connotation.) I also think it would be cool if once a month, there was a challenge solely for each specific rank? It would help take down the disappointment some lower ranked artists feel when they're up against a staff artist in every challenge they enter.

Short thought to add- Those of you that are saying you've "felt the community" and that TDA is a "great and loving community" (I haven't seen a post like that in a bit, but still), have you read THIS THREAD ALONE? People are tearing each other up. People are fighting. From both sides, and, I admit, from myself. And, most importantly, people are saying that they don't feel comfortable, and others are telling them, quite basically, to suck it up. This is not a good nor supportive community, and I think that is completely evident by the responses in this thread alone. I will answer those questions later when I'm not in class/on my phone

Maybe they do, but that's because they've been conditioned through the years to repeat their style. -I- want to see a graphic and go, "wow, that's awesome! I wonder who made that?" Then find out it's an artist I already adore who managed to make something SO UNIQUE it no longer looked like it was made by them.

    An Apology

^ im sorry, but why do I need a style? Honestly, I LOVE trying out things I've never tried before. And if that means I'm never going to get promoted, that's stupid, because I could master every skill from photoshop, but I'm not allowed to be promoted because I like trying new things and don't have a "consistent style"? That doesn't make any sense to me. People get bored of trends in graphics, I get bored of trends in my own graphics, so I change them. THIS SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED, not something we surpress. That's all I'm going to say about the style thing because tbh everyone else has already said everything I wanted to say, and at this point, it would be preaching to the choir. There are the people that are upset/have been upset with the way TDA is being run, and there are those that aren't. And neither of us will be able to change the others mind. Also quick add to my last bit- I think it is far more impressive of a talent to be able to master several styles of graphics than to just let yourself be very good at one kind.
