Since this seems to be a rules-related question that is directly connected to the forum changes, and there is a thread for questions I thought this would be the most appropriate place to post said question - I hope that's okay!

 

SO I was wondering. Looking through the alternative art forums - for digital painting and photography, there is a topic titled "When can I post a new topic here?" that explains that if you have 20 or more art pieces in one category, you are allowed to start your own topic.

 

My question is if I have more than 20 pieces to share of a different art form (specifically something that would fall within "And the rest" as a non-listed type) would I still be able to post my own topic for it? Or is that only a thing for the categories/forums where that topic is specifically listed?

I'm not really sure if this is the right place to ask or not, so I'm super sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place :/ but I think this question is related to the rules, so hopefully I'm good asking here??

 

I haven't been active here for about a year, so of course my gallery ended up getting deleted. I'm in the process of making a new one and hopefully starting to post stuff again, but I just realised that I have no idea what the protocol for that is, and where I should post a new gallery topic. Would I just create a new topic in the senior galleries or do you get demoted if you ((r extremely lazy)) have been absent for as long as I have? I'm sure this question is already answered somewhere, but I've looked through the FAQ and the forum rules and I can't seem to find the answer? Thanks a million :) (also sorry if this is in the wrong place!)

Hi!

 

I've posted this here since the requesting rules are also in this section. I hope that's okay.

 

I want to request a potter's world set, but this will be for a character I'm creating when next registration is open (in about two weeks). I was wondering if this is allowed, since normally you need proof of your face claim?

You'll have to wait until you've actually registered your account before you can request a set for it. :) This is because we can't guarantee a graphic will be used if it's made for an account that isn't even created yet and we don't want our artists to waste their time. But you're welcome to request the set in a couple of weeks once you've made your account and can provide proof (a screenshot of your profile) that you have. ^_^

Quick question: in my gallery, I've got a few fanmix covers that, shockingly enough, actually go along with actual mixes I have posted on 8tracks. Would linking to those playlists (and by extension my 8tracks account, which honestly has practically no personal information on it) be okay? Or does that fall under the same purview as Facebook and the like?

 

(I'm just really proud of those mixes)

You're allowed to link to 8tracks as long as you haven't put up your full name or anything concerning your personal address or personal pictures. I think 8tracks for me is like tumblr and twitter in any case, so feel free to link your mixes!

I have three award graphics, previously made by Gina (justonemorefic), and now I'd like their year to be changed to 2014.

However, Gina is no longer available... so what can I do?

Have you tried PMing Gina (as is recommended in this topic under Re-requesting)?

 

If she is unavailable and hasn't replied to a PM in two weeks you'll have to re-request the awards as an artist can't edit another artist's work.

Hi :)

 

I'd like to request promo and featured graphics for my site, but as I recall you have a rule where you're not supposed to request more than one graphic at once unless it happens to be a set. The graphics I'd like to request are 4 in total. I'm not entirely sure how to go about requesting, so I'd appreciate it if anyone could kindly clarify that for me.

Hi soccerfreak23 :) You're allowed to request more than one graphic in the +other requests forum if the graphics happen to be a set, like you said. This means that the graphics have a common theme or style where it is necessary for the graphics to look similar or be made by the same artist. Some examples are maybe pips for a forum, or headers. If the promo and features graphics require a similar theme/style you are welcome to request them all at one. If they are completely different graphics then you request them seperately :) Hopefully that clears it up for you!

I had a banner made for one of my stories about a year ago and I am thinking about having some one (or the same artist) recreate it. Did I read somewhere on one of the forums (can't find it now) that I needed to let the original artist know that I am no longer going to use her banner?
